The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Sony Echono inaugurated the councils made up of 25 for federal polytechnics and 21 for FCE in Abuja.

Adamu noted that the councils were critical to positioning polytechnics and colleges of education to play expected roles and urged members of the councils to make use of their varied experiences to make difference in efforts to solve the various challenges facing the education sector.

The minister, however, warned that the effective governance alluded to the members did not necessitate interference by the council in the day-to-day running of the institutions.
