Again, Senate Panel Summons CBN Gov Over ‘Missing’ $9.5m

The Senate public accounts committee has given the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, up till this Thursday, to appear before it, over the alleged disappearance of $9.5m interest, from the federation account.

The 9.5m dollar interest accrued to the federation account from petroleum profit tax investment.

The Senate committee, during its sitting on Monday, alleged that the sums deposited and the interest rate, were shrouded in secrecy.

They said the CBN governor was being invited to corroborate some figures in the statements of account.

The senate public accounts committee is currently scrutinizing the reports of the auditor general for the federation, which probed the spending of federal government agencies.
